30 Days of Morning Boxing

Boxing is not always about standing in the middle going toe to toe. It's about poise and grace under extreme pressure.

So after 29 years of trying to figure out the right sport my body can entertain, I finally found boxing. I was going through a really really really tough time and I just felt like I needed to release all the stress and anxiety. Boxing was my saving grace when no food or guided meditation was able to fix me.

Being a lover of cozy life, I never imagined myself working out in a gym called Fight Factory for 30 straight days. Boxing became a leisure and form of entertainment - and I loved every second of it.

I usually get up at 5:30am every morning to prepare breakfast and be at the gym at exactly 7:00am. Every single morning became more and more exciting.

The awesome thing about boxing are the mind and physical benefit it brings, here are some of them according to Shape Magazine:

1. In addition to boosting your strength and cardio, boxing improves a number of skill-related parameters of fitness, including balance, coordination, reactivity, and agility.

2. With a potential burn rate of 13 calories a minute, boxing goes head-to-head with other types of cardio like running and cycling.

3. Not only is hitting something a healthy and productive way to help you let go of tension, the rush of endorphins may make you happier too.

4. Hand-eye coordination is key for boxing. Punching a bag or sparring requires focused movements and amazing recall, challenging your muscles and your mind.

5. It's easy for your fitness routine to become, well, routine, but boxing will keep you on your toes. Boxing requires complete focus, which makes the time fly by.

I just love the feeling of relief after I charge my body and do my power punch. In a way, it helped me release my pent-up anger to feel better, and become better person. I guess some things cannot be just easily released by right breathing exercises, right? :)
