5 Beauty Secrets That Works for Me

Why is beauty so important? In the book Emotional Design: Why We Love (or Hate) Everyday Things, Don Norman believes that beautiful things change your emotions in a positive way, making you feel happy and less stressed. Your emotional state then affects your perceptions and your effectiveness in completing tasks. When you are happier and less stressed, most things you do are easier, and machines and other tools seem clearer and simpler." In a nutshell, people gravitate towards beauty because it affects human experience in a good way.


I do not claim to be a beauty expert, but I know that the beauty secrets that I am about to share with you really works for me. These things are easy to do, not expensive, no strict diet and exercise needed. Just basic daily habits that really improved my physical, emotional, and psychological state.


1. Morning Salad

Yup, salad. I did this for a year and my life changed! Fill your salad with ingredients that are nutrient-rich, low in sugar and unprocessed. You can top those leafy greens with brain foods to help you concentrate and stay alert all day long. I eat Chicken Caesar Salad from Wendy's every single work day (PHP 55 only!)

2. Daily Vitamin E capsule

I used to dye my hair blonde, and that's how I noticed the amazing hair growth with Vitamin E. My roots grew higher and higher every day! Vitamin E is an antioxidant, but is also essential for repair and build of tissues. This vitamin is popular as beauty supplement as it helps in damaged skin and slow hair growth.

3. Green Tea

One of my best friends initially recommended drinking green tea 3x a day to lose weight. Oh boy, listening to that advice is the best decision I've ever made! Aside from being a great source of antioxidants, green tea magically controls my body weight without strict diet and exercise. The amount of caffeine in green tea is increasing the metabolism, leading to weight loss.

4. Lots of Drinking Water

Drinking the right amount of water daily is the answer to a clear, hydrated, fresh skin. Water is also the best substitute to soda and other sugar-packed drinks that leads to weight gain. When your belly is full of water, you are less likely to fill hungry.

5. Right amount of sleep

Good night's sleep is needed to avoid puffy eyes and tired looking face. Also to increase collagen production, which is only created during sleep. A person with the right amount of sleep is always in a better mood!

Aside from making the right food choices and lifestyle habits, it is also very important to maintain a conscious effort in having a positive attitude in life. Being a kind and well-rounded person is the best way show the world the beautiful you. :)
